Discover a better way with FrostBoss® frost fans, maximising efficiency and covering 6-8 hectares at a lower cost per hectare, all backed by proven research.
WHY FROST FANS?
It only takes sending out the helicopters too late, not getting the candles lit in time, or getting an unexpected frost to have your fruit ruined.
With an industry-leading coverage area, a FrostBoss® Frost Fan is the reliable, efficient & quiet way to keep your crops in top shape & get a better night's sleep during a frost.
When you're not out having to prepare each time it turns cold, you've got more time for things that matter.
You won't need as many hands to light candles or have to send up a helicopter every time there's a frost.
No chopper flying overhead, or fans that sound like one. FrostBoss® fans hum gently as they circulate the air.
Our blades reduce consumption to nearly half that of some 2-blade fans.
Frost fans help make more land viable for planting, so you'll have more space to grow your business.
Better production means less waste and more opportunities to increase your yields and profits.
Download the FrostBoss® booklet to discover the ultimate solution to safeguard your crops from frost damage.

Learn Morefans vs other protection
The earth absorbs heat from the sun during the day, and releases it into the colder atmosphere at night. Just before dawn, the heat loss is the greatest, and usually when most frost damage happens.
When the heat is released, it creates a layer of warmer air, about 10-50 metres above the ground. FrostBoss® Frost Fans pull this warmer air down to ground level, and then blow it into the orchard or vineyard.
To protect the crop from the most amount of damage, the air needs to reach the greatest distance possible and the fan needs to blow as much strong, uniform wind as possible. Drainage winds (or ‘katabatic drift’) carry air down the slopes (like water flowing off the land), and these influence the coverage area (elliptical rather than circular), so understanding their direction ensures the fans are placed for maximum crop protection.
Our frost fans automatically turn on before a frost (usually 0.5 to 1.5°C above freezing) and can be set to ideally turn off late, and with 360 degree vertical rotation, they give far greater protection than traditional methods.
In severe conditions, using orchard heaters in conjunction with frost fans increases how much warmer air can be pulled down and blown across the crop.
